The investigation of dual duct applied on ocean current generator system / 雙導罩應用於海流發電系統的探討

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 系統工程暨造船學系 / 102 / According to the tested results of fully submerged tidal current generator developed by NTOU (National Taiwan Ocean University), its advantages and disadvantages are well known. A new current generator with a diffuser augmented duct is designed to improve its efficiency. To reduce the mechanical loss of gear box and to simplify watertight problem in the old current generator, a new outer direct driven current generator, in which the rotor is installed at the tip of the turbine blade and the stator is imbedded in the duct, is designed. The new current generator will be tested in Large Cavitation Tunnel.

Further, the application of double diffuser augmented ducts on turbine will be investigated. An outer diffuser augmented duct will be designed outside the trailing edge of the inner duct and served as an outer boundary. The gap between the trailing edge of the inner duct and the outer duct is finite. This finite gap will limit the flow to pass through. Thus, the gap not only can force more flow volume into the impeller inside inner duct, but also can function as a boundary layer controller to prevent flow separation in the diffuser of the inner duct. In addition, the diffuser of the outer duct can enhance the effect of the inner duct so that the power coefficient of the impeller can be increased up to 1.05 based on the same impeller diameter. In this paper, the effect of many geometry parameters, such as outer duct, inner duct, the gap between inner and outer duct, and center body, on the power coefficient of the impeller will be also investigated.
