Temporal and spatial variations in fishing conditions for frigate mackerel ( Auxis rochi ) in the waters off northeastern Taiwan before and after the passage of typhoon / 颱風前後臺灣東北海域圓花鰹漁況之時空變動

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 環境生物與漁業科學學系 / 102 / Typhoon Haitang , Bilis, Kalmaegi, Fung-Wong, Morakot and Saola were selected from the Typhoon Database in this study. By using the fishing logbook and hydrological data(remote sensing-based) from 2005 to 2012 to examine the influence of typhoon on the frigate mackerel (Auxis rochi) torch light net fishery in the waters off northeastern Taiwan.
The sea surface temperature (SST) declined after the passage of typhoon in this studying area (23.5°N-25.5°N; 121°E~123°E). The mean SST decreased from 0.04℃ to 1.18℃ after typhoon. Especially Typhoon Haitang, the SST declined 0.79℃. Compared the SST of the second week after typhoon with those of the first week after typhoon, the SST increased slowly and returned to the previous week of typhoon. Similarly, the Chl-a increased apparently after the first week of typhoon, it increased from 0.01 mg/m3 to 0.36 mg/m3. In particular, the largest increase in Typhoon Haitang. Compared the Chl-a of the second week after typhoon with those of the first week after typhoon, the Chl-a decreased from 0.03 mg/m3 to 0.35 mg/m3.
It was found that the CPUE before of typhoon were higher than after of typhoon. The SST of the main fishing grounds were distributed between 26℃and 30℃. For the reason, the CPUE and the fishing grounds were related to the SST. In conclusion, the frigate mackerel fishing conditions were varied by the oceanic conditions of typhoon.
