碩士 / 國立臺北教育大學 / 數位科技設計學系(含玩具與遊戲設計碩士班) / 102 / The purpose of this thesis is to implement reconstruction and forced connection as design methods for game character design with styles combining the Chinese classic “Mountains and Seas” and Steampunk from the Western science fiction. Initially, Nyuwa, a known character from Mountains and Seas, was designed in her original Chinese style. The next stage is to apply the method by blending in steampunk elements through “clothing & accessories”, “color” and “texture”. The final work, which was consulted by interviewing experts, was confirmed to fit the style combination of Chinese and steampunk. Suggestions for future research references were also concluded with the interviews, including stronger attempts on the design concepts, increasing the depth and breadth of reference documents, producing a series of related designs, and fitting character design for games.
