Hydrogen Production by Photocatalytic Water-splitting Using Pt-doped TiO2 Hollow Spheres and Their Efficient Hydrogen Evolution Under Visible Light / Pt摻入TiO2中空球材料應用於可見光下光催化分解水產氫之研究

碩士 / 靜宜大學 / 應用化學系 / 102 / Titanium dioxide is a semiconductor with many photocatalytic properties such as good redox properties of light, corrosion resistant light, chemical stability, cheap and non-toxic and therefore is applied widely on photo-catalysis. However titanium dioxide also has a wide band gap with an high absorption absorption only in wavelength range lower than 380 nm (3.2 eV) in ultraviolet region, the efficiency of hydrogen production is not significant in the visible region. Therefore, this study used titanium dioxide by doping noble metal and modified the structure of material to improved performance.
A series of hollow sphere structure of titanium dioxides (HS-TiO2) was prepared by Sol-gel method in this experiment. The HS-TiO2 materials were doping with noble bimetallic Au and Pt. By varying morphology of the titanium dioxide to increase the catalytic activity, stability and recyclability.
The results showed that prepared catalysts displayed 1.0 wt% Pt/HS-TiO2 have the best hydrogen productivity of 1023.7 μmol.h-1 g-1. After repeated 5 times the catalyst did not decrease the performance of hydrogen production within 35 days. The structural and morphological characterization were performed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and UV-vis spectrophotometer. This study confirmed successfully synthesis hollow sphere structure of titanium dioxide and effectively improve the performance of hydrogen production after doped noble metal.
