A Study of the Passenger Behavior for High-Rise Vertical Transportation / 高層建築物垂直運輸配置之乘客搭乘行為研究

碩士 / 東吳大學 / 資訊管理學系 / 102 / As the techniques in architecture building are gradually improving, due tothe economic efficiency concern of the urban land use, the building elevations are much higher than before. The elevator, also known as the vertical transportation in the high-rising building, plays a crucial role in the domain. If the vertical transportation in the high-rising building is inefficient, then the passenger will waste a lot of time to wait and take longer time for the entire ride. Most of the general architecture and domestic elevator researchers are working on optimizing the design of the elevator control system. They concentrate in improving the elevator control system to enable the shortening of passengers’ time in waiting the elevator, yet they seldom propose the related discussions on researching the passengers behavior aspect regarding the using of vertical transportation.
As to the passenger’s behavior when taking the lift, there is a significant impact on the way of transportation during the traffic peak. This study is conducted based on the assumption that the settings remain unchanged. With the same numbers of elevator facilities, transportation speed, and configuration, different queuing mode are experimented to attain the best way of transportation service and reduce passenger’s transportation time on riding. To the corresponding management personnel, the finding does not only reduce the unnecessary elevator operation but also reduce the cost of operational maintenance.
In this study, we use simulation software of SIMUL8. The symbolic ultra-high-rise building of Taiwan,Taipei 101, is used as the target simulation object with its current elevator configuration to build a set of single-layer & double-layer elevator environment and run a vertical transportation method. Various kinds of common simulated situations and two kinds of the most common passenger queuing mode (random mode and sequential mode), which collect and analyze the results data from various kinds of simulated situations, are used to serve the main purpose of finding out the best service efficiency and the optimal queuing mode. The goal is to provide the relevant management personnel important references and suggestions, in order to attain the maximum efficiency of carrying the passengers.
There are three conclusions from the simulation results, the double-layer elevator achieves better efficiency, riding time, and more passengers than the single-layer one. However, this simulation model is on the basis of one elevator service only. It costs more money and spaces to build more double-layer elevator for extensive experiments. Combinations of single and double-deck elevators can be further investigated to obtain best efficiencies.
