Effect Analysis of University Service Learning Curriculum – A Case Study of Learning Participation in Lestibular Landscape Construction Practice of Tunghai University's Alumni Hall / 大學服務學習課程實施效果分析-以東海大學校友會館前庭景觀施工實務參與學習為例

碩士 / 東海大學 / 景觀學系 / 102 / These years Tunghai University has been promoting 「Service Learning Plan」in campus, the purpose of the project is to extend students’ knowledge, to train the group spirit and perception, and to improve interaction with society. Therefore, teachers and students can prepare a plan, then receive subsidies from Service Learning Plan after being qualified by school. They can implement as the plan, for the hope to improve ability of self-learning, and interaction among students and teachers. This study is one of the qualified plan named “Improvement of Lestibular Landscape of Alumni Hall in 2013”, mail purpose of the plan is to combine service learning and planting design course. Through arrangement of class content, participants can gain experience from landscape construction practice. In the end, the results show that all participants have positive benefit despite of different background and experience. Also, participant’s interest of future work for construction and supervisor is not relevant to learning interest of planting. However, participants with greater interest in planting construction and planting maintenance have greater interest in work for construction and supervisor in the future. Participants’ learning interest of planting construction is relevant to suggestion degree of planting design course. About sense of achievement, after seeing completed landscape work, participants with higher sense of achievement have greater identification on participatory learning. About participating frequency, participants with more participating times are with lower suggestion degree of planting design and landscape design course. About past experience, participants with similar work experience in the past have higher percent of “very suggest” on improving practice of planting design course in the future(64.3%). In the end, seldom participants feel very difficult(3.4%) or very boring(3.4%)during the practice. From the results, we suggest construction by stages for the flexibility, to avoid unequal distribution and disturbance during work. Furthermore, for the course arrangement, we suggest to take participant’s sense of achievement into consideration, the results show sense of achievement plays an important role during practice, it not only affects participants’ identification, but also affects participants’ gain of experience.
