Risk Assessment of Water usages in Taichung coastal area / 運用套疊分析法探討台中沿海地區水源負荷之風險

碩士 / 東海大學 / 環境科學與工程學系 / 102 / Taiwan's rapid economic developments, along with urban development lead to increasingly serious problem of land-use. In recent years, over-developed activities which cause harm on humans and the environment have aroused awareness among the government and people. Moreover, due to rapid development of cities, the growth rate of population and ascending rate of industrial’s construction which may result in water blocking during development, and since Taiwan's annual rainfall is uneven which easily induced water scarcity, so the important issue here is how to effectively resolve water allocation problem. Thus, in this study, by using geographic information systems (GIS), we can explore the condition of water supply and water demand under the social environment conditions (agriculture, industry, and livelihood) at the surrounding area of Taichung Dadu platform. The possible factors were collected separately or to create GIS layer so that attribute data of each GIS layer can be separate into two major indices: vulnerability and criticality. Therefore, we were able to identify the main factor which has impact to the water supply of that particular area, and then combine these two indices and give a grade to make the regional water shortage risk map, so that people are acknowledge the effect of agriculture, industry and livelihood to the situation of water supply and water demand. From the results, although the industrial development is not fully saturated, but much of the irrigation area distribution plots because of water shortages have led to such a large distribution. Also that the degree of influence on the industry factors
are not the main shaft, agricultural factors affecting the main reason is the lack of water in the region. Hence, this model can improve the

decision-makers in the evaluation and achieving the most desirable sustainable development strategy.
