Ground Fault and Switching Surge Analysis for Offshore Wind-Farm Interconnected to VHV System / 離岸風場併接特高壓系統之接地故障及開關突波分析

碩士 / 國立臺北科技大學 / 電機工程系所 / 102 / In order to promote renewable energy and set offshore wind farm as a renewable energy spindle, wind energy companies are expected to build an offshore wind farm in Changhua. The architecture of this offshore wind farm connects wind turbines by submarine cables. After collecting the submarine cables, the system transmits power to shore power grid by underground cables. Due to the higher capacitance characteristics of submarine and underground cables, switching surge due to switch operation and overvoltage due to ground fault is the main topic of this thesis.
This thesis uses the advanced Electromagnetic Transients Program (EMTP) software ATP Draw to construct a simulation model of an offshore wind power plant. This work simulates the switch-on action of the transmission line, switch-off action, and ground fault to observe the surge voltage and current, in which the operating mode considers the three-phase synchronous operation and non-synchronous operation, and single-phase ground fault that occurs most frequently in the power system is considered in this study.
The simulation results can assess whether the surge voltage and current have negative impact on system equipment. Additionally, this work proposes several improvement strategies for offshore wind companies as the important reference.
