碩士 / 國立中正大學 / 電機工程研究所 / 103 / Visual navigation assistance with image information is a popular research topic in recent years. Due to the advances of Internet technologies and smart wearable devices, it becomes possible to obtain images and the related information easily. In this thesis, we present a visual navigation assistance system based on image matching and geographic information. An image database is construction by panoramic scene acquisition with the latitude and longitude information. The input images and associated geographic information are used to search the database for landmark recognition. We then utilize the results to calculate the camera pose of the input image. The camera pose is further used to find the corresponding landmark feature on the Google Map for identification. The experiments carried out on real scene images show the average accuracy 80\% in our 4 databases.
