A Study of the Importance and Satisfaction for Teacher’s Professional Development Evaluation—An Example on Taichung Coast Area Junior High Schools / 教師專業發展評鑑之重要度與滿意度分析—以臺中市海線國中為例

碩士 / 中華大學 / 企業管理學系碩士班 / 103 / The purposes of this study are to survey Taichung coast area junior high school teachers’ importance and satisfaction at Teacher’s Professional Development Evaluation, and to find out the evaluation criteria to be improved, in order to provide relevant suggestions for educational administrations, schools and future researches.
Questionnaire survey method was adopted in this study. Questionnaires were given to 310 Taichung coast area junior high school teachers. There were 281 valid respondents. All collected data were analyzed by IPA analysis method with SPSS statistics software. The conclusions are as follows:
1.Currently , Taichung coast area junior high school teachers’ importance and satisfaction at teacher’s professional development are both above the mid level ,between important/very important and satisfied/no comment.
2.The overall importance of the junior high school teachers’ professional development is higher than satisfaction.
3.There are significant differences on importance of professionalism and attitude between teachers from different seniority and school size.
4.There are significant differences on importance of research development and educational training between teachers from different educational degree and teaching field.
5.There are significant differences on satisfaction of curriculum design and teaching between teachers from different seniority and school size.
6.There are significant differences on satisfaction of research development and educational training between teachers from different educational degree.
7.According to the IPA model analysis, priority subjects for schools to be improved are “Establishing class regulations to enhance learning” and “Create positive atmosphere for class learning”. These are key subjects when schools participate in teacher’s professional development.
Based on the conclusion of this study, suggestions for educational institutes and personnel are as follows:
1.Educational administrations should establish a professional evaluation department, in order to continuously improve the methods and criteria of Teacher’s Professional Development Evaluation, especially participate in “research development and educational training”
2.Schools should contribute more supports and resources to Teacher’s Professional Development Evaluation, especially participate in “classroom management and counseling”.
3.Teachers should voluntarily join teacher’s professional community, enhance professional development through educational courses and training, especially participate in “curriculum design and teaching” and “classroom management and counseling” in order to increase the effectiveness of teaching.
