Research on the Cultural Ceremony of Community and the Collective Memory - take Er-Long Community Dragon Boat Competition in Yilan County Jiaosi Township as an Example / 社區文化慶典與集體記憶─以宜蘭縣礁溪鄉二龍競渡為例

碩士 / 銘傳大學 / 建築學系碩士班 / 103 / There are many dragon boat competitions in Taiwan during the Dragon Boat Festival activities. Through investigating the related information of dragon boat competitions around Taiwan, in this treatise(thesis), we found that the Dragon Boat competitions in Er-long community, Yilan County Jiaoxi Township, which, along with the characteristics of local custom of the competitions. The Er-long dragon boat competition will be a very important memory for the residents in Er-long community, and it is also reflected on the feelings of local residents and the collective memory. Most of all, this is an important tradition of the local history and culture. Participating in the local cultural celebration through Er-long boat competition, we can observe emotional exchanges between the residents through culture in which will be discussed in the following contents.
This thesis is analyzed through two methods - literature review and participants’ observations, gathered information and understood the community activities. The contents of the literature review are included by Jiaoxi Chi, Er-long boat competition from generation to generation. Yilan literature magazines and other related documents helped us understand the characteristics and cultures of Er-long community. Through the experience of participating in the community activities and collective memory consolidation theory, we understand the residents' motivation of community activities in their participation. And then, through the process of discussing community awareness, this thesis examined the shortcomings of the collective memory. The research of collective memory through actually participating in activities, understood the traditional culture shaping and establishment.
Observing on participants of activities toward the views and attitudes of Er-long boat competition, which showed the participants’ willingness in the process of participation. Through the process of participant observation in Er-long boat competition can be found that the memory and shaping of dragon boat culture are passed on orally by community residents, which is also an important way to keep the residents’ relationships in their daily lives between the residents. The shaping and cohesion of collective memory in ceremonies and activities through identity of various value to identity of local, identity of participation and identity of observation, etc. The actors interacted with the actors, formation or fusion boundary raise the collective memory that belongs to the local community.
