The Nitrate provides the main nutrients for growth of plants. The plants absorb Nitrate and keep the low concentration of Nitrate in the water. It provides the fishes with a good environment for survival. Fishes and plants benefit from each other. This achieve an mutualistic environment.
There are many food safety scandals recently, so people worry what food they ate. Many people begin to find natural food material source. Aquaponics is a good way to get natural food material because it is no pollution, saving water, and possible to be built in home. It can provides both fishes and vegetables without fertilizer and extra water. In the face of the threat of future climate extremes, Aquaponics system is consistent with the city people because it is no pollution and natural.
This study is based on Aquaponics system. The results of the experiments show that the feeding volume, the ratio between fish and plants, and the kind of plants are the main factors effecting the content of plants. The results of the study also verified the number of fish and vegetables through a mix of adjustment and reduce the amount of feed can grow vegetables commercially available nitrate content equal to or less. Its nitrate content with the EU rules limits the scope of nitrate in vegetables.
