The Research about Ocean Imagination of Taiwan Folk Stories / 台灣民間故事的「海洋幻想」研究

碩士 / 國立中興大學 / 中國文學系所 / 103 / This master paper is discussed about the reason of imagination using by Taiwanese in Taiwan Folk Stories and the stories represent the huge speciality of ocean. Actually the natural blue ocean and the migrate experience of Han and aboriginal people which brought in the past history have a strong effect to influence the culture of people. So, I start to collect all the stories which are related to my research in library or internet surfing. I classify the stories to the chapters I designed. Try to understand the meaning behind of the stories with the theories I used. It is no deny that ocean is a treasury to grow up unlimited imagination which you have never expected. Human''s action always be influenced by the space they stayed. They show different behaviour when they arrive a new place. The books of space theories I refer to are Yi Fu Tuan 《Space and Place : The Perspective of Experience》,《Landscape of Fear》, 《Escapism》, Mike Crang 《Cultural Geography》. People always give a value meaning to the special place they stayed. Ir calls Subjective geographic knowledge. On the other hand, people need courage to begin an amazing adventure. It is because you are going to a place that haven''t been explored before. You have to take a risk. So, you are called a real hero. This will be described in Chapter two and three. Next chapter will continue to talk about Ma-Zu and Zheng Cheng Gong. They are mystical. They are be created from a normal human being to a great god to release the feeling of fear. It is a kind of Hero worship. In the other way, they try to defeat the monster by themselves. I use different of theories to explain the books.
