A Study of Sustainable Development of Ocean Tourism in Peng-Hu District / 澎湖地區海洋休閒觀光永續發展之研究

碩士 / 國立體育大學 / 體育推廣學系 / 103 / Recreational tourism is duded as a chimneyless industry in the twenty-first century. Over the past decade, global travelers and gross revenues in tourism have surged dramatically. This study attempts to investigate the sustainable development of ocean tourism in Peng-hu, Taiwan. Literature analysis and in-depth interviews are applied to the study to perceive the status quo, problems and resolutions.
The findings, results and further empirically study are discussed in the research based on the ecological, social, culture and economic theoretical perspectives. Firstly, the ecological success relies on joint endeavors from the governmental regulations, residential awareness, industrial self-disciplines, and resourceful conservation. In the event of ocean re-habitation and recycling policies are carried out, the local ecology and environmental damages can be diminished. Secondly, local community involvement and law enforcement would consolidate the travel-conscious developments. Thirdly, local scenic attractions adding cultural creative elements could conceptualize the core cultural values to the visitors. Lastly, the diversification of multi-cultural tourism should increase work opportunity and resolves the drain of emigrants and population structures. The substantial entertainment infrastructures and invisible industrial upgrading will improve the macroeconomic situations in the area. A well interactive tie to the local government, the travel agencies and local residences works collaboratively will signify the importance and ensure the developmental continuity of the ocean recreational industry in Peng-hu district.
