Evaluation of the Seasickness on Board using a Motion Simulation Method for Ships / 以運動模擬計算評估船舶之暈船性能

碩士 / 國立高雄海洋科技大學 / 造船及海洋工程研究所 / 103 / Possessed of good seakeeping is very important for a seagoing vessel. A fairly good seakeeping and then comfortable performance will be high in the design priorities for most types of ship, also being important on passenger ships and particularly on cruise liners. The main objective of the paper is to establish the operating procedure to evaluate the seasickness on board using a motion simulation method for ships. In this work the program Wasim from DNV has been used to exercise the hydrodynamic analysis for ships. The DNV-Wasim is a famous software to simulate the ship’s motions in wave and estimate the wave loads of ships sailing in a real sea, which is based on the potential flow theory and the panel method.
In the work a passenger vessel has been used as an example ship. Firstly, the response amplitude operations RAOs of the vertical accelerations for the ship have been successfully simulated in the waves with various wave lengths, heading angles and ship speeds. Then the motion sickness incidence MSI can be carried out by way of considering the data from the related wave spectra and wave scatter diagram. ISO 2631(1997) was applied as assessment standards for the motion sickness in this work.
