碩士 / 國立高雄第一科技大學 / 行銷與流通管理研究所 / 103 / Due to the changing environment (e.g. social structures, customs), the traditional industry in Taiwan encounters two challenges: on the one hand, the development of products and capabilities have been restricted by the traditional management model; on the other hand, the development in the market and industry has been also restricted by the definition and boundary of traditional industry. However, in order to respond to rapidly changing environments, the responsiveness to internal development is not sufficient. For example, basing on the resource-based view or the position of industrial environment may not solve the problem. Using the case survey of the United Fisheries Ltd, this study aims to examine how a firm modifies the business model to respond the changing environment.
Based on the analysis of case study from the dynamic capability perceptive, this study finds that the development of business model is not a static way, but is a dynamic way. According to the dynamic capability approach, this study suggests that a firm enhances competitive advantages by the extension of production and core capability (e.g. the capability of learning, innovation, reconfigration, and network).
