Analysis and planning of establishing electric bus transportation system in Penghu / 建置澎湖電動公車運輸系統之規劃與 分析

碩士 / 國立澎湖科技大學 / 電資研究所 / 103 / The growing global energy crisis and environmental awareness in recent years have led nations around the world to invest efforts in developing energy conservation and carbon reduction technologies. Although diesel-fueled vehicles are still the mainstream among city and highway buses, advances in green technologies have produced various alternatives that feature reduced noise and emission pollution, such as hybrid buses, electric buses, and fuel cell buses, which can therefore improve the quality of the environment. At present, cities and counties around Taiwan are promoting electric buses, in which reconstructing the bus transportation systems is a significant challenge. Cost factors including the number of vehicles, battery capacity, the number and locations of charging posts, and even the bus schedules. With green transportation becoming an important policy direction in Taiwan, this study examined the bus transportation system in Penghu. We considered bus schedules, battery capacity, and charging during the day and during the night to estimate the minimal cost of establishing an electric bus transportation system.
