碩士 / 國立屏東大學 / 休閒事業經營學系碩士班 / 103 / Yacht is a type of recreational water vehicle powered by sail or other propulsion, mostly utilized for private entertainment and recreational sports purposes. Taiwan had long enjoyed the reputation as one of the world best and renowned yacht manufacturing and exporting countries since the 1980s. Export revenue of the yacht product was as high as nearly two hundred million US dollars annually, and it has also become one of the main export products in Taiwan. However, considering the yacht industry and various historical museums prevailed in Taiwan, it is imperative that we build a yacht museum as for the public to have more understanding about the very industry. Questionnaire method has adopted to explore the boat show participants’ image and motivation for the establishment of a yacht museum, hopefully to further highlight the historical significance of the yacht manufacturing, and to establish the only yacht landmark museum with industrial and commercial, cultural, recreational characteristics in Taiwan.
Through literature review proposed research hypotheses and sampling survey of the boat show participants, a total of 306 valid questionnaires was collected. Then, by using descriptive statistics, T test and MANOVA statistical approaches, the results are as follows: 1. Participants were mostly male, unmarried, aged 21 to 40 years of age, students, living in the southern region, and with the monthly income of 30,001 ~ 60,000 NTD. 2. Partly of the background of the respondents’ variables were significant differences towards museum images and motivation for the establishment of a yacht museum. Finally, by analyzing these differences, this study hopes to provide organization concerned and future researchers with a reference for yacht museum establishment.
