Development of chirp sonar system and Its application / 發展掃頻聲納系統量測海床反射係數-舉台灣西南海域為例

碩士 / 國立中山大學 / 海下科技研究所 / 103 / Acoustical sub-bottom profiler (Chirp sonar) is widely used as a survey tool to image sediment structure. Chirp sonar data inversion has been used to determine sediment layering and physical properties in underwater acoustics applications. Chirp sonar echoes can be used to measure acoustic reflection coefficients at normal incidence to the seabed and attenuation roll-off rates of surficial sediments. The aim of this research is to (1) develop acoustical sub-bottom profiler and (2) to estimated seabed reflection coefficient and compare with coring data. This research is to integrate acoustic transducer, amplifier, and DAQ system as a independent system for acoustic profiler. The developed prototype of the acoustical sub-bottom profiler has been used and tested in the southwestern sea off Taiwan. This tool lends itself to various tasks that include imaging fluidized mud greater 40 meters, sediment classification, marine geotechnical surveys, hazardous waste target location, geological surveys, archeological surveys, mapping clam populations, military and offshore oil applications, and full ocean depth sub-bottom imaging.
