The Investigation of the Relationship between Senior College Students’ Ego Identity and Intention of Working Holiday / 大學應屆畢業生自我統合狀態與海外打工度假關係之研究

碩士 / 國立中山大學 / 教育研究所 / 103 / The purpose of this study was to explore the significant differences and the relationships among senior college students’ ego identity and intention of working holiday. A total of 288 graduates from six colleges were selected by convenience sampling, completing a questionnaire on Extended Objective Measurement of Ego Identity Status, (EOMEIS-2) and the Working Holiday Intention Scale to assess their status of ego identity and their intention of working holiday. Moreover, 137 working holiday makers and 151 workers were selected by purposive sampling, completing a questionnaire to explore the differences on their ego identity. And the relationship between working holiday maker’s ego identity and satisfaction of working holiday experiment. Descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA , regression and Chi-square test were conducted on the quantitative data. Findings from the study were summarized as follows:
1. The ego identity status of senior college students are largely ” identity achievement” and “identity moratorium” . There was no significant difference of gender, type of university and the planning after graduate on ego identity status.
But, male students have higher scores of the identity moratorium status than female students. Technology university students have higher scores of the identity diffusion status than university students.
2. The intention of working holiday of senior college students is above average. And there was no significant difference of gender, type of university and the planning after graduate on intention of working holiday.
3. There is no correlation between ego identity status and intention of working holiday of senior college students. But, the higher scores of the identity moratorium students have, the higher intention of working holiday they have.
4. Working holiday makers have high satisfaction of working holiday experiment, and there is no correlation between ego identity status and satisfaction of working holiday experiment.
5. There was no significant difference on ego identity status between working holiday makers and workers. But workers have higher scores of the identity foreclosure status than working holiday makers. Otherwise, working holiday makers have higher scores of the identity achievement status than workers.
