碩士 / 國立臺灣師範大學 / 體育學系 / 103 / The purpose of the study was to explore the effects of participating in dragon boating on the life structure for breast cancer survivors. Evidences had showed that, in foreign literatures, there were many positive effects for breast cancer survivors who participated in dragon boating. However, there are no literatures investigate it from the perspective of life structure. We chose a member of the Taiwan’s first dragon boat team for breast cancer survivor as the participant, and explored the changes of her life structure, using the technique of semi-structured in-depth interviews to collect qualitative data. The data were analyzed line-by-line adopting the method of grounded theory. Results show that: 1. Dragon boating makes the role of breast cancer survivor's daily life more diverse. 2. Dragon boating makes enormous changes in everyday life structure of breast cancer survivor. 3. Dragon boating makes breast cancer survivor find her meanings of life. According to the present research findings, dragon boating plays an important medium in the life after breast cancer of the survivors. Hope that more breast cancer survivors can benefit from it. We recommended follow-up studies focus on the social and cultural structure, and to know whether breast cancer survivors participate in dragon boating can generate new idea or change her mind to face the society.
