Analysis of Performance-Based Seismic Design Method for Allowable Stress Design Pile Wharves / 容許應力設計棧橋式碼頭之耐震性能設計之分析

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 河海工程學系 / 103 / Taiwan is located at the danger zone, which earthquakes hit frequently. Every time when the disastrous earthquake hits, it brings a lot of loses to people. As a result, highly developed countries such as the United States, Japan and Europe began to focus on researching the seismic design and the idea of Performance-Based Seismic Design (PSD) was born in 1992. Not only had the safety it also consider the economy, that makes the building had its maximum contribution in the effective duration. This technique also widely used on normal buildings, highway and wharves.
This study refer the International Association of Navigation’s performance design standards and Domestic and foreign specifications to carry out a complete evaluation.
From soil liquefaction to wharf’s safety factor’s inspection then focus on the wharf models set the soil spring of piles’ underground parts , the plastic hinge of piles and RC beams and carry out a simple dynamic analysis. It’s using the SAP2000 to carry out the push over analysis for pile wharves focus on examining its performance point to discuss the force and displacement under each earthquake level and refer the standard of International Association of Navigation to examine that whether it meet the requirements or not.
When the pile wharves under the earthquake force, the surface of the wharves have no significant damage, the primary situation of damage is the inertia damage when piles hit by the side force. This study is focus on the angled pile and vertical pile wharves carry out the push over analysis and performance examine under the same conditions.
Although the result of the examine present that both the angled pile and vertical pile wharves are both meet the requirements, the angled pile wharves can resist more side force than vertical pile wharves, and at the underground part if it set on over soft sea floor not only lead to Soil liquefaction but land bearing capacity shortage and make the piles subsidence. Choose the work site carefully is also the way to increase the economy of performance-based design.
