碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 河海工程學系 / 103 / In this study, the latest hourly wave data from year 2005 to 2014 of 10 years from 4 field stations in coastal waters of Northeast (NE) Taiwan, Su-ao Harbor, Su-ao, Longdong and Keelung Harbor, have first been statistically analysed for representative energy potentials. Then, those from 2012-2015 at stations of a Data Buoy and an ADCP in the Ocean Energy Testing Field in Keelung, were statistically analysed and compared with those long-term trends in NE coastal waters.
The results in NE coastal waters demnstrate that waves concentrate about 1~1.5 m in height and 6~9 s in period. In most stations, wave directions concentrated in NNE~ENE directions while at Su-ao Harbor E direction. Main wave energy sources commonly concentrate during the NE monsoon for six months (October to March next year). In each month, those over 80 kW/m of typhoon swells are generally less than 20% and averaged wave energy can still reach 10 kW/m after deleting those over 80kW/m. Higher averaged wave energy of 14 kW/m occur at Longdong and Keelung Harbor while thoase at Su-ao Harbor and Su-ao are 11 kW/m. At Keelung Harbor, wave direction and wave energy distribution are most focused and highest.
In the Ocean Energy Testing Field in Keelung, the wave heights and periods are similar to those of Keelung Harbor with typical double-peak distributions with higher values toaward right. Except in summer, wave directions concentrate in NNE~ENE directions. Main sources of annual wave energy concentrate in NE monsoon period of 6 months. By concerning generation set’s safety, it is recommened that operations could proceed in from October to next March of 6 months and maintenance could be carried out in from April to September of the other 6 months.
