The Study of Pet Owner’s Perception and Buying Behavior on Fish Oil as Canine Dietary Supplement / 寵物犬飼主對寵物保健食品魚油之認知及消費行為研究

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 食品科學系 / 103 / For pet owners investigation on cognition of health food-fish oil, buying properties and purchase decisions, the demographic statistic results are as following, female (61.9%), 30 years of age (46.8%), office administrative category (24.2%), Technical College / University (69.8%), the average monthly income under NTD. 30,000 (53.2%), without marital status (55.6%). The pet aged "four to eight years old," accounted for the majority (38.1%). The information sources comes from "friends and family experience" (33%) the most. The purchase method in majority is pet shops (49.6%), purchase frequency 5-8 months (36.1%), the average amount of each purchase is NTD. 1200-2400 (36.9%) the most. The purchase method to "Gender", "Education", "Pet ages," have significantly associated. Further analysis of female respondents preferred way is to purchase in pet supplies stores, while men prefer to pet shops and animal hospitals. The educational attainment, technical colleges / universities, prefer to buy directly in the pet shop, and high school / Junior college of the respondents prefer in animal hospital, it shows the higher the level of education, may have a higher degree of autonomy. In terms of age pet dogs, puppies under 4 years old, many respondents chose to buy in the animal hospital. Meanwhile, 2 significantly associated variables to the frequency of purchase are "occupation" and "education." The most buying frequencies of office administrative class are 5-8 months, while working class buying frequencies is 9-12 months based. The average amount of each purchase on "occupation", "education", "pet dog Age", "and marital status." is significantly associated. Labor group average amount of each purchase is NTD.1200-2400 based. The technical colleges / universities, average amount of each purchase is up to NTD 1200-2400. And, for no marital status, the average amount of each purchase is NTD. 600-1200. In addition, terms of pet dog age, 4 years old to 8 years old, the purchase amount NTD. 600-1200 is the highest. Also those who spend more than NTD. 2400 are puppies under 4 years old and dog older than 12 years old. Also different gender of the respondents, for respect of buying motives, commonly in women than men believe that fish oil helps to enhance immunity, reduce skin allergy and prevent cardiovascular disease. On the purchase consideration, women in the quality and price considerations are more cautious, pay more attention to whether the purchase during the pet show or on-sale offer, significantly higher than men.
