The Passenger Preferences to Select Aircraft Seats / 旅客選擇飛機客艙座位偏好之研究

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 航運管理學系 / 103 / The competition between airlines becomes more intense. In recent airline industry, service qualities become more and more important. Service quality turns into a main goal of competitive strategies.Improving the ground and cabin service, making passengers more satisfied can increase the willing of choosing this airline.Now a day, there are more and more studies discuss about this issue, but the satisfaction of choosing seat isn’t included. This study can fulfill this lack. In the airline position, explore the relative factors of the passenger preferences to select aircraft seats. In this study we divide them into two groups, the element about position and the element about passengers in the vicinity. And we make a survey base on these elements. This study aims at people with experience of taking airplane and collect data from random questionnaires. And then analyze Data with Descriptive Statistics Analysis, Variance Analysis, Correlation Analysis, and Regression Analysis.

In general, (1)The passenger’s natures and conditions more effect the preferences to select aircraft seats.(2)The willingness to pay price and the degrees of preference generally positively correlated.(3)The flying experiences and the characteristics make the passengers have different attitudes of the passengers preference to select aircraft seats.(4)The results of Regression Analysis can give airlines some advises and standards when they are making strategies and rules.
