碩士 / 國立臺灣科技大學 / 設計研究所 / 103 / The media platform of mobile devices is a popular research topic in recent years. Therefore, it is important to maintain consistency in the operating behavior, integration of various news classification, and ease of use interface design to help users effectively conduct task operations and quickly locate desired news content.
In this study based on past research studies, the author conducted experimental tests of the existing news applications to help sum up the design and characteristics of the media platform of mobile device user interfaces, and to investigate their systems and users interface of various task operating modes. After that, three different navigation menu modes were created to facilitate the research of two-factor experiments, i.e., 2 "level of user experience" x 3 "navigation menu mode" were summarized and discussed with users’s task performance. The results of study showed that: (1) In testing process, the top of the slide-type navigation menu was the most suitable design to help quickly switch news category and participants can complete tasks in a short period of time. Compared to the other two kinds of navigation menus, participants prefer to interact with this type of user interface design than others. (2) Different kinds of navigation menu modes might have different impacts on news applications, and as long as the navigation menu design could meet users' needs, it might result in higher learnability for reducing obsession in participants' operations. (3) Design style of the top of slide-type navigation menu could help integrate software category and other functions, so that participants could quickly understand the overall software operating process. Further research can be conducted based on the results of this study to help create more in-depth real world applications.
