Evaluation of the operational performance for Taiwan’s storage and transportation companies / 台灣倉儲運輸業之營運績效評估

碩士 / 東吳大學 / 經濟學系 / 103 / The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the operational efficiency of 11 storage and transportation companies from 2003 to 2014. Due to the different market segments, they will be divided into two groups for the study of operating efficiency, selecting three input variables (employee, total assets, shareholders' equity) and two output variables (operating revenue, net income) for measuring of efficiency. This study adopts DEA model- Window Analysis, to obtain the pure technical efficiency. To understand the condition and direction of the companies’ operations could be improved. Finally, the use of a comprehensive analysis by Performance Evaluation Matrix is applied to show the relationship between pure efficiency and ROA.
The empirical results of this study are concluded as following:
(1) In the BCC model, the commercial logistics group, Retail Support International was the most stable; the most stable company of express carrier is President Transnet Corp.
(2) In the Comprehensive analysis of Performance Evaluation Matrix, the overall rate of pure technical efficiency and ROA were positively correlated.
