碩士 / 國立雲林科技大學 / 工業工程與管理系 / 103 / With increasing in dementia between family and society day by day, aging society have become a global issue. Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is the interim period of degenerating to dementia. Alzheimer’s disease international (ADI) identified that about 10% to 20% older adults who is over 65 years old may suffer MCI, and according to the Petersen’s (2003) research, about 80% of patients with MCI develop Alzheimer’s disease (AD) dementia within 6 years. Today we have not developed the proper medicaments to improve AD’s cognitive abilities. At the early stage of AD, losing is one of the major symptoms , it already effects the patients’ social actives and the quality of their lives. Ou (2013) found that using electronic maps could help AD way-finding abilities and decline the error of navigation. In this study, we explored the different navigation interface to evaluate the AD performance. The experimental factor are three group(healthy older adults vs. AD vs. MCI )* three interface modalities( audio + visual vs. audio + tactile vs. visual+ audio+ tactile) mixed factorial design. Each group has 15 participants, and MCI and AD diagnosed by clinical dementia rating (CDR), and each score is 0.5 and 1. According to these methods of experimental design, this study evaluates the performance of participants from their accuracy rate, subjective measures and decision time. The result suggest each group has the fastest reaction by audio + tactile modality. If the tactile modality add to the interface, it would fast participants’ reaction; on the other hand, if the visual modality add to the interface, it would slow participants’ reaction. In the future the study result can provide the interface reference of the navigation, and strongly hope to increase AD confidence of way-finding and the quality of their lives.
