The Study of Improving Fire Rescue on MRT by Looking at the Haishan MRT Station / 捷運消防安全與搶救精進之研究-以新北市海山站為例

碩士 / 中華科技大學 / 土木防災工程研究所在職專班 / 104 / Since the operation of Muzha line of Taipei Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) System on March 28, 1996, five main lines have been joined; which has become Taipei metropolitan area transportation with daily passengers approximately 2 million. Extending the coverage, the lines and inside structure of MRT become more sophisticated; which leads to the trend of underground stations with consideration of insufficient land resources, but also sharpens the difficulty of fire safety and rescue. Underground’s sealed characteristic can jeopardy internal lives, staffs and passengers, severely once if with fire; the dense smoke can boost and cover the whole space instantly. Therefore, effective prevention and aftermath fire rescue can be crucial to public security.
This study adopts literature reviews with analysis on existing MRT fire security and rescue deeds, and experts’ interview for finding the difficulties of firefighters’ MRT fire rescue, for checking the duration for firemen from fire station to destination as well as the efficiency of existing fire equipments to underground fire by simulation based on MRT Haishan station. The results display, time to flaming sites is 4’5”, 7’2”, and 12’33”, respectively; which requires 13.6%, 23.4%, and 41.8% for operation, individually. The deep and wide design of Haishan station leads to longer searching time; besides, the contemporary duration assessed with existing fire equipments cannot be applied for underground station fire. Obtaining practical time for fire elimination and reducing searching time for fire location, long-term respirator with thermal imager should be engaged.
This study may provide future effective references and assessments for fire units and MRT companies in order to reduce fire casualties in these places as well as protect human lives and properties.
