The Determinants of Job Satisfaction among Primary Unit Police Officers-A Case study of Kaohsiung Harbor Police Department / 外勤基層員警工作滿意度之研究-以高雄港務警察總隊為例

On one hand, to coordinate implementation of government policies includes simplify inspection process and creating citizen-friendly accessibility; on the other hand, actively combating illegal activities within the Harbor district , maintenance of Harbor security, and ensuring territorial security.
Harbor police officers daily management duties requires frequent interaction with crew members, visitors, staffs within the Harbor district ,accordingly, job satisfaction has a strong impact on service behavior and service quality, thus affecting foreign visitors or citizens impact on the government cognitive effectiveness.
The purpose of the study is to measure the five variables “Achievement”, “Supervisor and Colleagues”, “Salary Payment”, “Job Description” and “ Job requirements” among Kaohsiung Harbor Police officers job satisfaction. The paper-based survey was completed by 257 Kaohsiung Harbor Police officers. The hypothesis was analyzed by descriptive statistical analysis , T test , one-way analysis of variance and regression analysis.
The research indicates as follows:
1.Age has a significant impact on job satisfaction.
2.Years of service as primary unit police officers has a significant impact on job satisfaction.
3.Educational background has no significant impact on job satisfaction
