Adsorption of allophycocyanin by a magnetic polyethyleneimine composite / 以磁性聚乙烯亞胺複合材料吸附異藻藍蛋白

In order to developing a simplified purification process of allophycocyanin, the adsorption of allophycocyanin by a magnetic polyethyleneimine composite (Fe3O4@SiO2/PEI) was investigated in this work. The adsorption isotherm analysis demonstrated the adsorption of allophycocyanin followed Langmuir isotherm model. The optimum condition for adsorbing allophycocyanin by the magnetic PEI particles is pH 6 and the maximum adsorption capacity could reach to 444 mg/g particles. The adsorption of allophycocyanin toward Fe3O4@SiO2/PEI composite could be correlated the pseudo second order kinetics, indicating that the adsorption mechanism was dominated by chemical adsorption. The quantum yield of allophycocyanin fluorescence was not changed significantly before the adsorption and after the desorption process, revealing that the structure of allophycocyanin remain stable during the adsorption recovery process. When the Fe3O4@SiO2/PEI composite was applied to recover the allophycocyanin from blue algal cells extract, an adsorption capacity of 19.2 mg/g particles could be obtained. This work demonstrated that the adsorption recovery of allophycocyanin by the magnetic PEI composites is feasible. The purification process of allophycocyanin would be simplified using Fe3O4@SiO2/PEI composite.
