碩士 / 國立成功大學 / 水利及海洋工程學系 / 104 / This study discusses the current characteristics of the components consist of the whole year data, which were obtained by the data buoy from 2012 to 2014. These buoys were located in Suao, Taitung, Taitung Open Ocean region in Eastern Taiwan Waters. This study uses the Harmonic analysis (HA), Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition (EEMD) and the spectral analysis to separate these components from current data. The characteristics of the tidal current of Suao, Taitung region were significantly affected by the coastal topography. The long-term tidal constituents, MSF and MM, show the different direction of the Taitung Open Ocean at all seasons, but the major axes inclination of K1, M2 constituents still remained in close degree. The wind-induced current can be found in the result if the wind speed was above 15 (m/s). The time series during JELAWAT typhoon indicate a strong wind-induced current. Using an EEMD method to filter out tidal current, the wind and current data are highly correlated, with a correlation coefficient of 0.89. Under the strong wind velocity (〉15(m/s)), the ratio between the wind-induced current and the wind velocity at the Taitung Open Ocean site approaches 2.6%, which is smaller than previous studies.
