碩士 / 國立成功大學 / 系統及船舶機電工程學系 / 104 / Indonesia has the opportunity to increase a sailing and tourism pleasure activity using yachts. But the yacht industry in Indonesia has not developed properly. Recently Indonesian government is trying to increase the potential of yacht industry to support the coastal tourisms. To support the government's program, a tourism pleasure yachts is needed. The first step of this research is to collect data and analyze market demands of yachts in Indonesia. From the data analysis, we got that the contributions of the sailing yacht for giving the good impact in Economic sector is low. While the facilities as a yachting center is quite available. Then, we need to decide the yacht requirements and optimize the main dimension of the yacht with regard to ship design concept. The designed yacht will accommodate 2 crews and 6 passengers, the type is 17 ton sailing pleasure yacht with fiberglass as the hull material and equipped with sail as major propulsion and motor for alternative propulsion, it will be used for pleasure around the Poteran Island. The main dimension are: Lwl = 13.680 m, Bwl = 4.958 m, T without keel = 0.623 m, which has 4.025 kN of total resistance estimation when the speed reached 8 knot. After the calculation we design a lines plan and general arrangement of the yacht which is appropriate with market demand and hydrodynamic aspect of Indonesian sea. Finally, we calculate the cost estimation required to build a 14 m sailing yacht. Based on the analysis we can conclude that the yacht industry is feasible if developed as tourism pleasure yachts in Indonesia with the total cost estimation is Rp 1,950,631,000 or about $ 150,049 USD.
