碩士 / 國立嘉義大學 / 水生生物科學系研究所 / 104 / The aim of this study is to approach the effect of environmental factors on the excretion of nutrient salts by hard clams, and on the uptake of nutrient salts by microalgae and macroalgae. There are three parts in this study: the first is the effect of temperature and salinity on the secretion of ammonia-N, orthophosphate-P and urea-N by satiated and hungry hard clams; the second is the effect of salinity and nutrient salts on the growth of Tetraselmis chui and on its uptake for ammonia-N, orthophosphate-P and nitrate-N; the third is the effect of salinity and light intensity on the uptake of orthophosphate-P and nitrate-N by Gracilaria and Enteromorpha.
Part I : High temperature (30℃)and low salinity enhance ammonia-N secretion of satiated hard clam, while there is no significant difference in the ammonia-N secretion of hard clams at 15 ‰ and 25 ‰. High temperature enhances the secretion of orthophosphate-P by satiated hard clam, but the orthophosphate-P excretion was not affected by the salinity. The amount of urea-N nitrogen secretion by satiated hard clam at 25 ‰ was higher than those secreted by satiated hard clam at other salinity. When hard clams were at low salinity and low temperature, hungry enhances their secretion of ammonia-N. Hungry also enhances orthophosphate-P and urea-N secretion of hard clam at low salinity
Part II: The growth rates of Tetraselmis chui at 25 ‰ and 35 ‰ are greater than that at 15 ‰. When the concentrations of ammonia-N (or nitrate-N) and orthophosphate-P are respectively, lower than 16 mg/L and 4 mg/L, the growth rate of T. chui was affected by the concentration of nutrients salts. At 16 mg/L ammonia-N (or nitrate-N), the growth rate of T. chui was higher at higher concentration of orthophosphate-P. At 4 mg/L orthophosphate-P similarly, the growth rate of T. chui was higher at higher concentration of ammonia-N (or nitrate-N). However, orthophosphate-P uptake rate of T. chui was inhibited at lower concentration of ammonia-N (or nitrate-N).
Part III: The orthophosphate-P and nitrate-N uptake rates of Enteromorpha increase with increases in light intensity and salinity. However, there is no significant difference in orthophosphate-P and nitrate-N uptake rates of Enteromorpha at light intensity of 200 and 240 μmol photons m-2 s-1. Orthophosphate-P and nitrate-N uptake rates of Gracilaria were not affected by salinity. However, orthophosphate-P and nitrate-N uptake rates of Gracilaria increases with an increase in the light intensity. The orthophosphate-P and nitrate-N uptake rates of Gracilaria reached an maximum at light intensity of 160 μmol photons m-2 s-1.
