碩士 / 國立高雄海洋科技大學 / 航運技術研究所 / 104 / Based on sustainable development of marine fishery resources, we should be engaged in monitoring offshore fishing boats. The sailing fishing boats are required to be monitored to prevent over-exploitation of marine fishery resources under the global rapid development of science and technology in recent years.
The purpose of the study is to establish Vessel Monitoring System (VMS) by writing Visual Basic 2010 programming language and integrating related instruments including Global Positioning System (GPS), Radio Electric Buoys, Automatic Identification System (AIS) and High Frequency Radio.
To improve the limit of distance about Very High Frequency (VHF) and Ultra High Frequency (UHF), so we adopt High-Frequency Radio to obtain the information of vessel’s position and broadcast to the ground monitoring station. The Vessel Monitoring System (VMS) can increase of sailing safety and assist fishery company’s management of the fishing boats. It also prevents smuggling ships and monitors illegal activities at sea. All of which will increase people’s lives and property at sea, and therefore enhances the competitiveness of Taiwan’s marine fishery.
