A Study of Barcarolle, Op. 44 by Antoly Lyadov / 李亞朵夫《船歌》作品四十四之研究

碩士 / 國立高雄師範大學 / 音樂學系 / 104 / Due to its inaccessibility from the rest of the world, Russia has been considered a remote country. Until nineteenth century, as national policy began to take westernized, its mystery has been uncovered gradually, and the world, by degrees, became familiar with its music culture as well, but also because of this, its development of music has its own characteristics. A study of Barcarolle, Op. 44 is a piano solo piece composed by Anatoly Lyadov, of whom most works are Bagatelle music, and this Barcarolle is one of his Bagatelle. Barcarolle is based on Continuous Ternary Form with six eight time. Section types include symmetrical period, asymmetrical period and double period, the modulation among these sections is Common-tone modulation, and between phrases, often presented in a variation way. Barcarolle uses an uncomplicatedly beautiful melody lines as its subject for not only humming but also developing it easily in the following phrases. With much superimposition of three notes in the time of two or four notes in the time of three etc., phrases can increase fluency of melodies and change the color and tension of Barcarolle; as for harmony, Barcarolle adopts Common-Chord Modulation and Chromatic modulation to raise the diversity of harmony.
With the background of the life of Lyadov, the origin of Barcarolle as well as some creative techniques Lyadov applied to other piano works, this study may analyze the composition techniques and the elements used in Barcarolle, Op. 44. Also, in the respect of interpretation, this study may provide a reference basis to whoever plays Lyadov’ s works.
