碩士 / 國立臺南大學 / 生物科技學系碩士班 / 104 / P63 (Transformation-related protein 63) has been identified as a member of the P53 (Transformation-related protein 53) gene family. It has also been discovered that P63 is a cancer related gene which is significantly crucial for the teleost ionocytes and epithelial cells development. Furthermore, it has been found that P63 gene is able to regulate the ionocytes differentiation in zebrafish (Danio rerio). In order to clone P63 gene sequence in Oreochromis mossambicus, we aligned the gene sequence of zebrafish and Oreochromis niloticus. The overall P63 gene sequence in Oreochromis mossambicus is 792 bp. Next, we found that the P63 gene has highest expression in gills. Finally, quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) had been used to analysis the mRNA in cortisol treatment tilapia. The result indicates that P63 gene expression decreases in the first 18 hours but increases after 72 hours after treating with cortisol. As a result, cortisol does affect the P63 gene expression.
