Application of pumping water under the bottom and spilling probiotics to cultivate hard clam (Meretrix lusoria). / 抽濾及添加益生菌對文蛤養殖之應用

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 水產養殖學系 / 104 / This study investigated the effects of pumping water in the subsoil, using different feeds including broth of non-fermented and fermented fish paste, and algae, and spilling probiotics, on growth rate , survival rate of hard clam(Meretrix lusoria) and water quality of sediment.
In pumping water tests, the data of ammonia - nitrogen, nitrite - nitrogen, sulfide and chemical oxygen demand (C.O.D.) was all reduced remarkably, and the data of oxidation-reduction potential (O.R.P.) was improved; the growth rate of each group of hard clam was no difference, and the survival rate of pumping water group was higher than that of control group. In feed tests, the data of water quality of fermented group was lower than that of non-fermented group; the data of oxidation-reduction potential, growth rate and survival rate of hard clam of fermented group was higher than that of unfermented group. In probiotics tests, the data of water quality of the probiotics group was lower than that of control group, and oxidation-reduction potential of the probiotics group was improved; growth rate and survival rate of hard clam of the probiotics group was higher than control group.
The present study revealed that pumping water under the bottom and spilling probiotics could improve the water quality of sediment, increase the survival rate, and spilling probiotics also could increase the growth rate. Feeding algae was the best for improving the water quality, and feeding fermented broth of fish paste was the best for growth rate and survival rate of clam. At present, the method of pumping water in the subsoil is gradually applied by clam farming in Taiwan, the present results may convince the industry to set the pumping water system together with the adding of probiotics regularly to manage the subsoil, increase productivity and shorten the culture period of clam.
