碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 水產養殖學系 / 104 / Growth performance of white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei postlarvae were examined after 97 days of rearing from March 8 to June 14, 2016. The body weight of postlarvae increased from 1.74±0.54 mg to 2053±560 mg, and survival rate of postlarvae reared after 97 days was 50%. Weight gain percentage was 143763%. Length increased from 0.73±0.07 cm to 7.56±0.65 cm, and length increase percentage was 936%. Relationship between weight and length is Y= 4.944X3.071 (R2 = 0.997), while X is length (cm), and Y is weight (mg). Relationship between weight (mg) and time (week), and between length (cm) and time (week) are Y= 6.467e0.472x(R2 = 0.895), and Y= 1.092e0.154x(R2 = 0.898), respectively. Y is weight (mg) or length (cm) and X is time (week).
Ammonia is the principal end-product of nitrogenous compounds in an intensive culture system due to ammonification of organic matter and excretion of aquatic animals. Nitrite is an intermediate product during ammonia nitrification, and may build up to unusually high concentration in pond water. Copper sulfate (CuSO4•5H2O) is used in freshwater aquaculture to control parasites, bacterial diseases and also as fungicide. It is also used as herbicide. Lethal DO and lethal time of shrimp (0.2±0.50 to 0.5±0.25 mg) exposed to ammonia-N, nitrite-N, and copper of 0, 3.125, 6.250, 9.375 mg/l at 35‰, 25‰, and 15‰ were examined.
Lethal time of shrimp decreased with increase of ammonia-N at all salinity levels. Lethal time of shrimp exposed to salinity increased with increase of salinity. Lethal DO of shrimp increased with increase of ammonia-N at all salinity levels. Lethal time of shrimp decreased with increase of nitrite-N and increased with decrease of salinity levels. Lethal time of shrimp exposed to 15‰ was significantly higher (p < 0.05) than that of shrimp exposed to 25‰ and 35‰. Lethal DO of shrimp increased with increase of concentration of nitrite-N. Lethal time of shrimp decreased with increase of concentration of copper and increased with increase of salinity level. Lethal DO of shrimp increased directly with concentration of copper and increased with decrease of salinity levels.
