A study on the prediction of the motion sickness incidence of three crafts at seas / 三型船艇之人員暈船率預估

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 系統工程暨造船學系 / 104 / When the ship is sailing in the ocean, it is likely to give rise to seasickness and then make crew and passengers feel tired and indisposed in case of low frequency ship motions. The motion sickness incidence always plays an important role in the process of ship design. However there is lacking of fast and precise tool for forecasting motion sickness incidence. This study aims to establish a fast and precise model for predicting motion sickness incidence of hardchine vessels.
In this study, the Response Amplitude Operators (RAO) and phase angles of three crafts in regular waves are calculated through the analysis software developed upon Two-dimensional Strip Theory for the seakeeping of crafts. Furthermore, figure out the vertical acceleration of various positions in the craft by means of absolute motion formula. Afterwards, the Bretschneider spectrum is employed to grasp responses caused by three crafts in irregular waves. The results of which had been compared with data collected from sea trial and reasonable validations have been obtainedin this studyThe standard analysis model,ISO 2631-1 (1997) for motion sickness incidence (MSI), is applied to explore main factors influencing MSI. Consequently, MSI is positively correlated to ship speed, the distance between seats and L.C.G. and voyage time while only negatively to sea state. Finally, the large quantity of data calculated in this study is used to predict MSI in various crafts in different sea states, ship speeds, heading angles, seats’ positions and voyage time with the aid of Back-propagation Neural Network. Therefore, the forecast model for MSI is thus established successfully with the extreme proximity of MSI from network output and theoretical calculation respectively.
