Comparison of long-term extreme value on motions and wave loads for different routes of a trimaran / 三體船在不同航線之運動及波浪負荷長期極值比較

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 系統工程暨造船學系 / 104 / A trimaran has been a focus in development nowaday, because of its superior advantages that it offers, such as high speed and relatively stable. A trimaran consists of a central-hull and two hulls aside, with a cross deck connecting all of them. However, a trimaran’s structural complexities increase the difficulty of wave load calculation.

The structural hull of trimaran must be a light weight design in order to achieve high speed performance and lower fuel consumption. Base on different kinds of wave characteristics and different ocean environments,a traimaran needs to be light-weight design as well as safely sailing in its service life. The purpose of this study focuses on comparing with long-term extreme values on ship motions and wave loads of the trimaran in different route. The numerical results will be comparing with the design loads of Lloyd’s Register rules.

The 3D Translating-pulsating Green function is used to construct mathematical model. One of key factor, response amplitude operator of a trimaran, required the combination of HSC-3D software with 3D panel method in order to calculate for Trimaran ship motions and wave loads response in regular wave conditions.

In order to obtain the short-term ship motion and wave load responses, the response amplitude operators need to combine with Bretschneider spectrum. The scatter diagrams of North Atlantic, and three different route around Taiwan, are used to analyze the ship motions and extreme wave loads of exceeded probability of trimaran, The extreme values have been compared with the design loads of LIoyd’s Register rules.

The vertical wave shear force and vertical wave bending moment are over predicted Lloyd’s rules. The short-routes around Taiwan are compared with North Atlantic Ocean, and the long-term extreme values on motions and wave loads of the Taiwan routes are decrease around 30%.The primary loadings of trimaran include: vertical wave shear force, vertical wave bending moment, splitting shear force, vertical shear force and transverse torsional moment.
