Analysis of Dynamic Characteristics for Micro-Grid Consisting of Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion and Photovoltaic Generation / 含海洋溫差與太陽光電之微型電網動態特性分析

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 電機工程學系 / 104 / Due to global warming and changing of petroleum price, renewable energy, such as wind and marine power, has been becoming an importance issue. With the advancement of renewable energy technologies, micro-grid and distributed gen-eration are gaining more attention. The main purpose of this thesis is to analyze the dynamic characteristics of micro-grid consisting of Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) and photovoltaic generation. The power sources of the study system include an OTEC generator and photovoltaic generator. The studied OTEC types contain open-cycle, closed-cycle, and hybrid-cycle. The research considers the difference between three types of OTEC system when the open-cycle and the closed-cycle OTEC system operate under the same mass flow and different temperature of input seawater. The results show that the system responses due to load variation are quite different when the system operates on islanding or grid-connected. The heat transfer rates of open-cycle are better than those of closed-cycle and hybrid-cycle. However, the output power of open-cycle is less than those of closed-cycle and hybrid-cycle. Moreover, as the system operates in the grid-connected mode, the system responses of voltage, frequency, active power, and reactive power are affected during a grid fault, and the system needs a period of time to return to a steady state after the fault is cleared. While the system operates under the islanding mode, affected voltage and frequency can be regulated by the exciter and the governor respectively and will return to a new stable state. When the system operates in the grid-connected mode, the voltage, frequency, active power, and reactive power are less affected by load changes.
