Container Terminal Handling Operations of Simulation Models for Compare Performance Evaluation / 貨櫃碼頭裝卸作業模式比較之模擬績效評估

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 商船學系 / 104 / In this study, we discuss two different types of traditional and modern container terminal, with yard block configuration and equipment deploy to assess their performance.
In traditional container terminal, we discuss the transportation process between the quay and container block has a critical affect to terminal operation performance. The research has token the linear terminal as the main topic, discussing the operation models between the seaside and landside. The main impact of variables consists of transport vehicles at quay, load/discharge equipment inside the block, and ship schedules deployed. Adopt berth and gantry crane for the performance evaluation indicator. The research shows that with appropriate length of container block and setting transfer area decrease the operation time of transportations at quay and the period of berthing in terminal. Transportation at quay is assigned as truck consider to the advantage of fastness. Besides, setting transfer area promotes preventing traffic jam inside each block. We choose straddle carrier as the operating equipment between each blocks because of its lower cost and mobility compared to rubber-tyred gantry crane, which really improves the handling efficiency. In conclusion, length of container block and whether setting transfer area has a tremendous affect to the efficiency of backyard operating system.
In modern container terminal, we discuss integration of block assignment of container yard and handling equipment, including deploy of transfer area is a significant impact to the handling efficiency of container terminals. The research has taken convex embankment-type as the main topic, compared with parallel and vertical berth to discuss the difference of operation models between landside and seaside. The main impact of variables contains type of berth, block assignments and handling equipment. Considering loading efficiency of berth and gantry crane as the performance evaluation indicator, we designed four different plans through simulating on the Flexsim CT simulation system to analyze comparative assessments. Research shows that variance of loading equipment has a direct effect to the assignment of blocks, which will also effect the type and quantity of storage. For the most important, this may cause container reshuffling, that is why we need different operation strategies for berth type and block assignments.
