The Preparation of Alginate Microcapsules by Electric Spraying / 靜電噴霧製備海藻酸鈉微膠囊之研究

碩士 / 亞東技術學院 / 材料與纖維應用科技研究所 / 104 / This research presents an electrostatic spraying technique for the Sodium alginate microcapsules preparationand applied in coating essential oil. Sodium alginate is the basic material, we collect the sodium alginate microcapsules through the crosslinking reaction with calcium chloride solution by electrostatic spraying. Parameter of the distance fix in 5cm, the voltage adjuste to 15、18 and 21kV, the flow rate is 1、3 and 5ml/hr. We observe how the parameters (concentration、voltage and flow rate) effectSodium alginate microcapsules and discussed the quality. After choosing the better parameters, we further coated the lavender essential oil in the microcapsules and analyzed the viscosity, diameter, coating percentage and the releasing ability.
The results indicate that the increasing concentration of the sodium alginate will raising the viscosity and diameters. When other parameters are fixed, the diameter of the microcapsules will inversely with the voltage and proportional with the flow rate. Two percentage of the sodium alginate is the best concentration to forming the microcapsules. Higher concentration will increase the viscosity and lead to the irregular shape of the microcapsules contrarily the lower concentration will decrease the viscosity and difficult to form the microcapsules. With the 21kV voltage, 1% concentration of sodium alginate and the 1mL/hr flow rate forms the smallest average diameter about 161.22±5.2μm. 18kV, 2% concentration of sodium alginate and the flow rate 1mL/hr is the best parameter for forming the microcapsules with the average diameter 200±5.2μm. 18kV, 2% of sodium alginate with 0.25g essential oil coated and the flow rate 3mL/hr will get the smallest average diameter of 104.3μm and the covering rate is 82.45%.
By using electrostatic spraying and 15wt% calcium chloride as a fixation platform, we collect the spray and forms the lavender essential oil coated by sodium alginate microcapsules successfully.
