The Design and Application of a Mobile Navigation System:A Case study of the Art Center and the Attractions of PaGua Mountain in ChangHua / 行動導覽系統設計與應用-以彰化市八卦山脈藝文中心與觀光景點為例

碩士 / 亞洲大學 / 資訊工程學系碩士在職專班 / 104 / Rapid development in technology has continuously evolved mobile carry-on devices; in addition, the ever-increasing popularity of mobile applications (App) and Quick Response Code (QR code) has brought endless business opportunities for various industries. The convenience of carrying smart phones and the expandability of mobile applications (APPs) allow not only multi-platform media displays but also timely customer services. When information technology and user interface are presented in different forms via internet, they allow omnipresent learning experiences for the users. As a result, the ever-changing and ever-renewing society has warranted an enthusiastic demand for quick and accurate information gathering.
This study is based on the art center and the tourist attractions that are located close to the PaGua Moutain in ChangHua; using Google’s cloud service as a platform, the study has established the website “ChangHua BaGua Mountain Art Center and Attractions Mobile Navigation System”, which publishes multimedia information such as text, audio files, and videos via internet. This system not only allows mobile smart phone users to scan QR Codes for videos that correspond to specific tourist sites, but also develops into an mobile application based navigation system that is connected to Google Play and available for free download. Visitors can easily learn about ChangHua city’s humanities background, local culture, and famous tourist sites. In a limited time, tourists who utilize mobile smart phones through QR codes may quickly receive multilayer information and travel tips; as a result, the different yet personalized experience may greatly stimulate ChangHua city’s tourism industry.
This study focuses on using smart phones or other mobile devices to scan QR codes and download tourist information through navigational applications (APP), a practice that not only saves resources on guiding personnel but also reduces cost in manufacturing paper products, thereby achieving the goal of saving energy and reducing carbon emission.
