碩士 / 臺北市立大學 / 歷史與地理學系 / 104 / River terraces are one of the landform performance with construction and process in the river. In Taiwan, the arc orogen by the Eurasian Plate and the Philippine Plate, flourishing tectonic movements make the river terrace generally. In particular, Taiwan's Hualien and Taitung areas uplift rate of the most active, the Coast Ranges of river terraces also sustained attention and research befactor the special nature in the geology.
Although most of the Hua-Tung Coast area’s river basin short, within the region terraces developed. And it in the eastern side of the Coast Mountains will multivariate by climate. Previous studies mainly for this area to survey schematically, the difference between small-scale river basin are few studies. The short distance in the Hua-Tung Coast and include streams of Shuilin, Shuimuding and Sanxian have different terrace appearances.
In this study, trying to discuss the three river systems as a study object: 1. Comparison the river terraces of the Hua-Tung Coast’s development situation, to understand the regional differences. 2. Analysis this three streams for characteristic terraces. 3. To investigate the effect of the three streams form, induction the factors of the river terrace.
The where on study realize the river have meandering developed, terrace areas generally small, terrace sequence change with the basin scale. Each river in general are affected by climate and tectonic influence. The factors of river terrace are complexing and interlocking, but the tectonic movements dominate the process in streams of Shuilin, Shimuding and Sanxian.
Keywords: Hua-Tung Coast, river terrace, Shuilin stream, Shimuding stream, Sanxian stream.
