碩士 / 中華大學 / 企業管理學系 / 105 / Because of the implementation of two-day off weekend policy, the increasing of the Per capita National Income and the improvement of the knowledge level, leisure activities are gradually concerned in new days. For the spreading of the Global village concept, more and more people consider visiting foreign tourism among many leisure activities.
Recently, the working position of elementary school teachers is not like the traditional type before. Teachers face many kinds of pressures in education work. These pressures bring positive impact and make the pressure releasing easier by attending suitable tours. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship among the personality traits of elementary school teachers, travel motivation, and travel willingness.
The participants in this research were elmentary school teachers who had stable income and fixed holiday. The predesigned questionnaire was prepared for 400 samples. Two hundred and sixty-seven questionnaires were returned (66.7%). The data was analyzed through descriptive statistics, regression analysis, and ANOVA by SPSS software.
The research result as following:
1.Among the participants, the rate of teachers with conscientiousness and agreeableness personality traits are higher than others.
2.The travel motivation could be classified into four type by the effect level as following,” pressure releasing and enjoyment”, “cultural experiencing and learning”, “interpersonal relationships”, and “self-fulfillment”. The choice of the travel motivation question, “It can temporary make me get away from the job pressure and the busy daily life”, got the highest scores.
3.Teachers with conscientiousness personality trait showed significant difference between “pressure releasing and enjoyment”, and “cultural experiencing and learning”. However, teachers with openness personality trait found out difference between “pressure releasing and enjoyment”, “cultural experiencing and learning”, and “self-fulfillment”. Teachers with extraversion and agreeableness personality traits got significant difference in “interpersonal relationships”.
4.The difference analysis of personal attributes to personality traits demonstrated the differences between “age”, “marriage situation”, “preferable traveling way”, and the travel intension.
According to the results, the research suggested that the travel agencies can launch the package tours and the travel independently proposals at the end of the semesters by different personality traits of the teachers. The tour could be designed with staying longer and adding more introduction in the specific cultural or historical attractions as well as the cultural experiencing activities in order to achieve the pressure releasing purpose. Besides, it must enhance the travel willingness of the teachers not only by the traveling and the experiencing of the local cultural but enriching their lives under the relaxing situation.
