A Beacon-based Indoor Navigation Mechanism / 以Beacon為基礎之室內導覽機制

碩士 / 中華大學 / 資訊工程學系 / 105 / With the popularity of Internet and handheld smart devices and the Internet of Things (Internet of Things, IoT), we are more likely to obtain a variety of contextual information, which brings the development of context-aware applications, How to effectively use these contextual information has become an important issue. However, especially for people with disability or senior citizens, they might not be able to acquire contextual information or respond to those contextual changes instantly. For example, when a blind person who loves sports and wants to go to the Major League tournaments independently, those information provided in the venue might not be very helpful to them. Similar situations also apply to the senior citizens, their vision is not good, their hearing is weakened with age, their mobility is not as good as used to be. Do they have no choice but rely on friends and relatives to push the wheelchair to go around these places?
The purpose of this study is to proposal a beacon-based indoor navigation mechanism that could not only facilitate people with disability or senior citizen but also ordinary people to look around a spot through Bluetooth beacons and mobile phones. We use the smart phone built-in gyroscope, compass, GPS positioning, Wi-Fi connection, Bluetooth communication, vibration and sound function with pre-arranged in the environment of the Bluetooth devices. With these device deployment we can create an adaptable, scalable, supportive and low price of the friendly navigation environment for them.
