A Study of The Elderly scuba diver’s Leisure Involvement and Leisure Benefits / 熟齡水肺潛水員休閒涉入與休閒效益之研究

碩士 / 輔仁大學 / 體育學系碩士在職專班 / 105 / This research aims to investigate nowadays leisure involvement and leisure benefits of scuba divers aged between 50 and 64, revealing the differences of leisure involvement and leisure benefits from participants with different variables, discussing the relationship between leisure involvement and leisure benefits and presenting concrete advice to future studies. This research uses document analysis and survey techniques with the questionnaire “Survey on Leisure Involvement and Leisure Benefits of 50-64 Years Old Scuba Divers.” The population is set to 50 to 64 years old recreational scuba divers in northeast Taiwan and coastal regions in southern Taiwan. Out of the 182 questionnaires issued, 157 of them are valid, with effective response rate of 86.2%. Then, the questionnaires are processed with descriptive statistics, independent samples T-test, one-way ANOVA and Pearson’s Correlation.The results indicate what follows: 1. both leisure involvement and leisure benefits are high. 2. Significant difference is not found in factors of leisure involvement. The total score of “Social Media Interaction” is slightly higher than that of “Socially Psychology Involvement.” 3. Distinct difference is not discovered in factors of leisure benefits. The scores of leisure benefits ranked from the highest to the lowest are “Social Intercourse,” “Psychological Benefit,” “Learning and Self-Realization” and “Physical Benefits.” 4. The tested participants with different sexes, number of oxygen cylinders and diving certificates show obvious difference in terms of “Psychological Involvement.” Such apparent difference of “Social Media Interaction” can also be discovered from participants with different exercising frequency. 5. Overt difference of variables in leisure benefits is not seen. 6. A medium-to-high positive correlation between leisure involvement and leisure benefits exists. It is advised that further researches on various factors to off-shore island and international diving activities for 50-64 years old scuba divers can be done.
