The Investigation and Water Quality Monitoring of Tainan Recreational Beach / 臺南濱海遊憩區海灘水域水質監測調查

碩士 / 中華醫事科技大學 / 職業安全衛生系暨碩士班 / 105 / This study analyzed the total 12 bio-chemical parameters of water quality index including temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, biochemical oxygen demand, E.coli, ammonium, total phosphorus, mineral oil, cyanide, phenols, Enterococcus, and marine vibrios in the beach area of sunset platform and gold coast. The monitoring times were located between March to December of 2014~2015 year and February to September of 2016 year. The survey results of water quality were in the range: temperature, 21.8~31.8℃; pH, 7.8~8.3; dissolved oxygen, 5.2~7.8 mg/L; biochemical oxygen demand, 0.003~1.35 mg/L; E.coli, <10~47000 CFU/100mL; ammonium, <0.04~0.24 mg/L; total phosphorus, <0.02~0.23 mg/L; mineral oil, 0.0001~2.16 mg/L; phenols, ND~0.0174 mg/L; cyanide, ND~0.0029 mg/L; Enterococcus, <10~207 MPN/100mL; and marine vibrios, <10~273 CFU/mL). These data implying that the water quality of the beach area from sunset platform and gold coast were within the “B level” seawater standard of EPA regulation.
On the other hand, the high level of total phosphorus in both beach areas of Sunset platform and Gold coast form 2014~2016 may result from the upstream crops usage of phosphate fertilizer and domestic sewage discharged into beach area. The mild higher level of phenols observed in the beach area of Sunset platform in June 2015 and Gold coast in December 2014 may due to the industrial wastewater emission. Regarding to the higher level of ammonium between July to August 2014, the high density of domestic population and industrial factories (such as Tainan Science-based Industrial Park induced ammonia nitrogen pollution) in the upstream may contribute to the increased ammonium level in the beach area of Sunset Platform. The high level of E.coli in both Sunset platform and Gold coast from June to September 2016 may result from the fecal-sewage and livestock carcasses directly discharged into the river. Finally, the mineral oil in the beach area of Sunset platform does not followed the “B level” seawater standard in October 2015 and July 2016 may due to the coastal waters and marine diesel fuel oils discharge.
